Once Upon a Flock

It's true!

I'm writing a book, based on Scratch and Peck blog!
The title:  Once Upon a Flock.
It's an illustrated memoir about life with my flock of remarkable individuals, and Marky too.  Loaded with suspense, thrills, laughter and tears.  To be published by Free Press in Spring 2013!

And I have you, my dear readers, to thank.
Your comments and enthusiasm for the stories in this blog are my inspiration.

Fresh new blogposts will of course continue!

Yours most truly,

Lauren and the Ladies
...and Marky!

  19. Hi Lauren,
I found your blog two days ago and I read every single post.... middle of the night, reading about chickens on the other side of the world... When I tell people I do this (I found your blog via Tilly's nest by the way) they think I lost it, but I tell them it is research (we can't have chickens in this apartment but I hope in the next house we can, so I am preparing myself and I'm falling in love with chickens!). I just wanted you to know that I look forward to the book (congratulations on this!) and I love reading your posts and looking at your illustrations, thanks and have a good weekend!

  21. I follow a lot of blogs, mostly quilting related ones but when I see you've posted, all quilting interest disappears and I get ready for a visit to your life. Yay! A book! I was telling my sister about your blog a couple of days ago and I was telling her how much I'd like you to write a book. Two days later you make this announcement!! Yay! I'm sure you'll be announcing when pre-release copies can be ordered and since I'm a subscriber, I will hear. Yay!!! Thank you so much for doing this!

  22. Lauren....
    This is such exciting news.
I want the ladies to scratch and peck my copy and I'll request a paw print from Marky too while I'm standing in line at your autograph party. Let me know when and where it will be.

  33. I found your book at the library & that's how I came to this blogspot. This is the first book in many years that I want to go buy for my own.
I read the whole thing in 1 night & cried. And cried again as I read it again the next day.
Thank you for your drawings & stories. Truly an inspiration. I have so much to learn from Lucy's wisdom
